Days of A Yuki Joou: "The Holiday"

Yesterday i went to watch the movie "The Holiday" at ViVo City... Although i still hate the chairs, the movie would be the best i have seen for this year or should i re-phrase... It is the best "love story" movie of 2006.

I absolutely LOVE the movie..its becoz i think anyone can relate to the feelings of the characters. Everyone of us has been in love with someone in our life in one way or another...

Trivia: This film was written specifically with actors Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black in mind.

In Columbia Pictures' new romantic comedy The Holiday, Amanda (Cameron Diaz), an industrious and successful Los Angeles marketing executive, finds out her boyfriend who she lives with cheated on her with his assistant. Iris (Kate Winslet), a newspaper writer in England, is in love with a man who doesn't feel the same for her. In fact, she finds out for the first time that he's about to marry another woman when he announces it to everyone at the office party. The two women, completely devastated by their recent guy drama are in desperate need of a fast escape, so the two randomly meet online at a house swapping website and they quickly decide each will live in the other's home for two weeks.The last thing either of them are looking for is a new romance, however that all promptly changes when Amanda meets Graham (Jude Law), Iris' brother, and Iris falls for Miles (Jack Black), a film composer who is going through his own relationship grief.

Summary :

Iris is in love with a man who is about to marry another woman. Across the globe, Amanda realizes the man she lives with has been unfaithful. Two women who have never met and live 6000 miles apart, find themselves in the exact same place. They meet online at a home exchange website and impulsively switch homes for the holiday. Iris moves into Amanda's L.A. house in sunny California as Amanda arrives in the snow covered English countryside.The romantic comedy sees Diaz swap her Los Angeles house with Winslet's home in England. They then end up falling in love with local men.

I think that was another thing that I loved about it so much was that it's highly relatable to everyone.I think that we've all been through these relationships before. That's life. It's the journey of love. This lifetime is to try to figure out how to make love work and nurture relationships.

This subject of love, it's endless, it's absolutely endless and it can be the most glorious thing in the world but it can also be the most shattering thing when you're in a situation like the one Iris is in when you love someone who doesn't love you back.Everyone has played the role that person in the movies or have friends that are going through it.
